The Oscar-winning war film Platoon is a film of tense moments, memorable characters, and the horrors of war. The movie follows Chris Taylor’s experiences during the Vietnam War and his realization that his role in the war is insignificant and that there is great moral duality among his fellow soldiers. Things come to a head when a village full of civilians face death, which forces Taylor to consider what kind of man and soldier he wants to be, which makes Platoon one of cinema’s most effective anti-war films.
