Inspired by the legendary novel Dracula, Nosferatu follows Thomas Hunter’s encounter with the vampire Count Orlok in the Carpathian mountains. The film still inspires horror to this day and the image of a foul creature with pointy ears and long nails has influenced filmmakers ever since. While it may seem tame by modern horror standards, Nosferatu holds up because of its incredible artistry, atmosphere, and haunting images.
