Have you ever taken a moment to stop and consider the nature of dreams? What dreams are and what do they say about the human condition? Well, there is no better character of folklore to explore those ideas than The Sandman. The Sandman follows the life and escapades of the titular character. Instead of telling one continuous story, The Sandman comprises many short stories that explore dreams and nightmares from many perspectives. The Sandman was one of the first graphic novels to earn a spot on The New York Times Best Seller list and pushed the envelope in terms of mature themes and horrific imagery.
