Lolita is remembered as one of the most controversial books ever released. It has gone down in history as one of the most infamously banned books of all time.The fact that Lolita is still read and discussed today despite its controversial history says more than I ever could. Humbert Humbert meets the twelve-year-old girl Delores and quickly becomes obsessed with her. Naming her Lolita, Humbert tries to find a way to be with her but is arrested. Lolita is the story retold by Humbert in his private diary where he reveals himself as a charming, intelligent, and unreliable narrator. Regardless of what some may claim, Lolita is not an erotic novel. Instead, it is a warning of how seemingly honest and good people can deceive their peers and gaslight the naive to satisfy their twisted desires.
