Elijah Snow is a grumpy and amnesiac old man with nothing to his name but the clothes on his back and freezing powers. He is certain that he has seen it all until Jakita Wagner walks into his life and offers a job for Planetary, an organization dedicated to uncovering the hidden secrets of the world and the universe. With nothing better to do, Elijah takes the job and joins forces with Jakita and The Drummer to be “Archaeologists of the Impossible.” Planetary is less of a story about superheroes than it is about the superhero genre. It examines classic characters like Superman, Doc Savage, and The Fantastic Four from a different perspective to comment on how the superhero genre began and what it is becoming today.
