Superhero stories almost always focus on the hero. What does it mean for them to always put themselves on the line to save innocent civilians? Marvels asks the reader to look at a typical superhero event from the perspective of innocent civilians. What does it mean for the civilians to live in a world with superheroes? Phil Sheldon is a news photographer that becomes obsessed with what he calls “Marvels.” He becomes consumed with capturing the Marvels on camera and in the process takes pictures of many of the most iconic moments in Marvel Comics history. Marvels is an exploration of living a normal life in the shadow of superheroes and how the ordinary can still live extraordinary lives.
