Tell me if you’ve heard this story set up before. Many characters from various fairy tales and folklore all live together in a secret society in contemporary New York. Yeah, real original I know, but Fables takes that setup and does it better than anyone else. When a powerful enemy named The Adversary invades the realms of kingdoms of fairy tales, he forces the survivors to flee to the “mundane” world of earth. Now they must cope with keeping themselves hidden from the mundies and The Adversaries’ spies. Fables is filled with more cameos and references to classic characters than you can imagine and takes full advantage of those references to create a fun and interesting story of strength, courage, and community.
